My experiences here in Ecuador...

By Frater Benjamin Le SVD

I just wanted to write to say hello and continue to share with you my journey in Ecuador.  Life here continues to be a challenge for me due to my limited language skills but at the same time, it is also a blessing.  I finished my language study earlier this year with two short Spanish classes at a local university.  Afterward, I was assigned to assist at the Parroquia de Caupichu where I worked with the youths, served food to the elderly and practiced my Spanish.  Caupichu is situated south of Quito and is high up in the mountains so I turn into an icicle at night.  In the beginning of the following year, I will move to the coastal city of Esmeraldas, which is lower in the plains.  While there, the sun and the high humidity will toast me, not to mention a crowd of friendly mosquitoes.  By the time I return to the US, I bet that I will well crispy!

Here are some photos and descriptions of my experiences here in Ecuador...
