MISSION SUNDAY AT THE CHAPEL OF THE HOLY SPIRIT , TECHNY, IL

Bro. Linh Tran SVD shared his reflections about his recent ministry in Togo, Africa with those who were in attendance at the Mission Sunday liturgy.   Divine Word Missionaries began working at St. Joseph parish in Kante, Togo, in 1985.  There are two Catholic elementary schools, a public middle school, a high school, and a vocational school in Kante.  

Students from the surrounding villages must go to Kante for their high school education.  Many youths drop out of school because of the miles they must travel, and because they cannot pay for room and board to stay in town during the school week.  

St. Joseph parish sponsors a small facility where up to twelve high school students can stay while 
attending classes.  Many young people helped by the parish in this way have continued on to study at the university level.  This small facility is in great need of repair.
